What are the benefits of robotic surgery?
Robotic surgery offers enhanced precision and control, allowing for smaller incisions, less pain, and quicker recovery times compared to traditional surgery. How fast can I get back to work after robotic surgery?
Most patients can return to a desk job in a week or a more active job in two weeks. You will be able to do most of your normal activities within a few days of surgery, with the only restriction being no heavy lifting for 4 weeks.
How big are the scars with robotic surgery?
Most robotic surgeries are done through 3 or 4 very small 5 mm incisions.
Do I have to stay overnight?
With most general surgery procedures, you can go home the same day. For more involved surgery (such as bariatric or anti-reflux surgery), you will typically just stay one night in the hospital and go home early the next morning! Of course, we make sure you are comfortable and ready to leave before discharging you home.
How do I know if I qualify for bariatric surgery?
Most insurance companies will cover bariatric surgery if your BMI is greater than 40 alone or with a BMI greater than 35 with another medical condition like diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea. Call today to see if you qualify!
